Who We Really Are

More than just blueprints and concrete - we're people who genuinely love what buildings can become

Our Studio

The Story Behind the Studio

Look, we're not gonna pretend we started in some garage with nothing but dreams and a drafting table. But the truth is, back in 2009, Marcus Gildraven and Elena Quintar met at a conference in Vancouver and realized they were both pretty frustrated with how cookie-cutter architecture had become.

Fast forward fifteen years - we've grown from just the two of them sketching ideas over way too much coffee to a team of 24 talented folks who actually care about making spaces that don't just look good in photos but feel right when you're in them.

We're based in Toronto now, and honestly? This city's energy keeps us going. The mix of old and new, the diversity of neighborhoods - it's exactly the kind of complexity that makes architecture interesting instead of boring.

What Drives Us

Not some corporate mission statement - just what we actually believe in

Philosophy

Functionality First, Always

We've seen too many buildings that look amazing in architectural magazines but are a nightmare to actually use. Our approach? Start with how people actually live and work, then make it beautiful. Not the other way around.

Every project starts with questions like "how will sunlight move through this space?" or "where will people naturally want to gather?" The aesthetics follow from there - they're not just slapped on top.

Process

Collaboration Over Ego

Yeah, we've got strong opinions - you kinda need that as an architect. But we also know that the best ideas come from listening. To clients, to engineers, to the people who'll actually use the building, even to the neighborhood.

We don't do the whole "starchitect knows best" thing. Our job is to translate what you need into something that works brilliantly while pushing the design further than you might've imagined.
